On tap at the Puyallup River Alehouse. Aged in barrels from Parliament Distillery in Sumner. Served in a snifter.
A. 3 bright copper orange body, poured to the brim so no room for head on this one (what the heck beertender? )
S. 1.5 First thing noticed is the smell, big wiff of feet right off the bat. Very off putting, on second assessment there is an aroma of hops, but very heavy on the whiskey which apparently combine into a feet/sock smell. Completely unpleasant.
T. 2 Taste is better but still not good, mostly just booze and bitter hops, which I would normally love but there is something very astringent and medicinal about the barrel aging that makes it rather un-enjoyable. There's a decent malt bill in there zomewhere but the whiskey just overpowers any redeeming qualities. Whiskey barrels < bourbon barrels for beer aging.
M. 3 medium to full body, nicely carbonated. Some very thick film left after drinking. Ince again, meh.
O. 2.5 I wanted to like this because I've had good IIPAs that were barrel agedand its 10 minutes from home, but this just didn't work for me. I think maybe the barrels that were usedhad some devils cut leeching into the beer. Pretty much just a terrible beer. Too bad cause I would love to positively review local beers.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
