Pours out to a rich off-white head and decent lacing. Color is see-through very dark brown--kind of light for a stout. Aroma is coffee, fresh malt, roasted barley and cocoa. Flavor is an easy drinking, luscious mix of roasted barley, specialty malts and a balancing hop bitterness and residual hop flavor, probably Clusters and Cascades. The roasted barley notes are evident which secures this beer as being in the stout category despite the appearance. Reminds me of Vino's Lazy Boy Stout in flavor, one of my favorites.
