16 ouncer poured into a Glencairn glass because why not? I'm not a huge red ale fan, but this one's tasty. Sent in a report to correct name to Gem City Rubi.

16 ounce can, no dating that I noticed on it. Thanks once again to Brutaltruth for this can! Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a reddish/amber color with about an inch or so light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like stone fruit, caramel, toasted malt, and some citrusy and piney hops. Think the taste follows the aroma for the most part, but there's also some grassy and bready flavors noticeable too. Nice bitterness in the finish, leans a little towards the hoppy side but not overpoweringly so. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's coating and easy to drink with a good amount of soft carbonation. I thought this was a good overall amber ale, definitely worth picking up especially if you like hoppier ones!

From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This decent little amber pours a lightly
murky chill hazed dark amber with a very nice head of off white foam that settles
to a thick ring, thin clumping layer, and shows some excellent lacing. Nose of
toasted malts, caramel, and pine hops with a touch of citrus. Flavors
surpass the nose with spicy hops, citrus hops with notes of mango and
melon, and pine heavy hops with caramel. Medium verging on medium light
body, medium light prickly carbonation, and a bitter hop and lightly sweet
finish that is heavier on the hop side of life.
Overall, more of an imperial red that is a touch out of balance.

I tried this beer at the brewery as part of a four sample fight whilst in Dayton for my Bestie's 50th Birthday celebration. It poured a clear amber with thin white head that left some lace. The scent had faint sweet malt and yeast notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with caramel malt base and subtle bitter hop finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a decent beer.

Great red color. It has a great flowery quaff for aroma. The taste on the palette is more hoppy than malty which I was expecting. In fact I found the hops to overpower the taste and make the beer bitter at the expense of a nice malty red ale. The aftertaste is pure hops. I found it to be well produced but not satisfying to my palette. If you you like bitter reds then you might score higher. If you want malty get a sample and move to wheat beer.
