This one is malty as heck without much roast or char, which is kind of unusual, and I think some people will be put off by it and others will find it enjoyable. It also has quite a bit of hops at the finish, and chocolate and coffee notes. Nice creamy feel is a highlight. Probably would be better barrel aged.

Tried four ounce sample. Very dark, but not as opaque as I would expect for the style. Not much aroma. Very roasted malt notes, almost burnt flavor. Boozy. Probably would not get this one again.

On tap at the brewery taproom in Dayton.
Pours with an opaque black body that has thin ruby edges. It is topped by a durable beige head.
The aroma suggests high ABV and suggests chocolates.
The flavor has a faint sour and metallic off-note but this fades by the finish. The flavor does reflect chocolate, coffee, dark roasted nuts and dark bread.

Great lacing on this dark beer with a great head. Has a strong booze smell and taste. Good and toasty creamy smooth beer with medium body and carbonation.
