16 ounce can, no dating on it that I noticed, big thanks to Brutaltruth for this one! Served in a Toxic Brewing snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like dark chocolate fudge, vanilla, oak, bourbon and roasted malt. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some caramel, coffee, earthy and burnt/charred malt flavors. No one flavor overpowers the others here. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's slick and a bit rich with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good overall brew, definitely worth trying if you get the chance!

A - Dark brown / borderline black pour with no lacing.

S - Oak, light chocolate char, and Bourbon.

T - Oak, oak char, Bourbon, charred chocolate malt, and ends on the sweeter side.

M - Big silky, medium body with some warming on the way down.

O - Not memorable but solid.

From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This solid imperial pours a
dark blackish brown with a moderate head of khaki foam
that settles to a thin ring, thin dusty layer, and displays
some faint lacing. Nose of dark chocolate, dark coffee, vanilla,
oak, bourbon, char, dark berry hints, and subtle brulee. Flavors
follow the nose with aplomb. Dark chocolate is drenched
in layers of bourbon, oak, vanilla cream, brulee, dark
coffee, and dark berry hints of blueberry and blackberry.
Mouth feel is full, medium light tilting towards light carbonation,
smooth, rich, full body, warming, and finishing moderately
dry from warming booze and a nice bitter malt note.

Overall, akin to a Clown Shoes BBA offering or a Bruery
Black Tuesday brew. Improves with warmth!

SOLID!

Cheers

I tried this beer at the brewery as part of a four sample fight whilst in Dayton for my Bestie's 50th Birthday celebration. It poured an opaque dark with no head and no lace. The scent had sweet roast malt and bold bourbon notes. The taste was boozy in balance and not overly easy to drink. There was a sweet malt base with bourbon, tobacco and hints of semi-sweet chocolate presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a decent beer.
