It looked like a pale, it smelled like a pale. I haven't had a vanilla apa before, I was impressed by the ingenuity.
It's light in color, smelled good, little bit of hop smell.
I love a good bitter hoppy pale but that wouldn't have worked well w/ vanilla. It seemed like they really wanted the vanilla to come through and they succeeded. It was the predominant flavor.
The only draw back is the pale wasn't robust enough to hold the vanilla off from thinning out the beer. It was really thin and dry.
