Appearance. A rather clear, amberish brown brew with almost no head to speak of after a hard pour. Some tan foam. Minimal lacing.
Smell: Aroma's of dusty wood and tar. Quite tart and smoky.
Taste: Starts off with raisins and malts. Finishes with a zesty sour and slightly bitter taste of wood and tar.
Mouthfeel & Drikabillity: The gentle carbonation and overall smoothness of the brew make for a good mouthfeel. Quite drinkable too thanks to the sourness wich makes this one quite refreshing.
Conclusion: BA lists this as being a Belgian Dark Ale but I think it tastes more like an 'Oud Bruin' really. It's definitely very 'Liefmans-like' like in character. But not really intresting enough to make it stand out.
