Picked this up in Liege, Belgium. Not going to lie, the choice was mostly inspired by the fact that there is a nun on the bottle. Now I am kind of afraid of this based on the previous reviews.

A: Cloudy orange, with a head that dissipates rapidly, leaving a crown with some staying power. Pretty standard looking.

S: I'm not sure exactly what this smells like, but it's not beer. Very acidic, with a strange, soap-y smell. There are some musty notes in there as well. Very malty, or something. Foreboding.

T: Wait, what? It's very... heavy, sort of, with a strange not-quite-right taste, like it's trying to be crisp and refreshing but is just kind of off. There's some fruit, malt, and barnyard going on here, but it's all kind of stale or something. This just isn't really working for me. It's straightforward enough, just kind of conflicted.

M: Nice and carbonated, with a smooth mouthfeel. Doesn't linger in the mouth too long, which is nice.

D: Eh. The general confusion that's happening doesn't really make me want to race out and buy more. I'll probably finish this one, but it's not going to be an experience I'm dying to repeat.

A clear, orange beer with a thick and stable head.

Smell is malty with a heavy husk smell, that is nutty and unfresh. Not much hops.

Taste is husky and nutty with a astringent taste. The taste is less husky than the smell. I am not sure if this is ment to be this way. It tastes like a reasonable amount of caramalt has been used. There is not much else in there, but the nutty huskiness. The yeast appears to add a whiff of barnyard flavor. This beer suffers from an undefined style.

The abdis line from Liefman's features a nun in habit with a lot of lipstick and mascara. I am somewhat puzzled by the connection with belgian brewing here, but that is marketing for you.

Pours golden yellow with a decent head.

Nose is acidic, chemical, something like (unscented) detergent. Terrible and completely unappealing. This doesn't improve much at all with time in glass.

Taste is somewhat better. Slightly peppery, malty, and moderately bitter. Really not much complexity or depth here, though after the nose I was expecting a drain pour.

Unremarkable liefman's product, no reason to seek this out in my opinion.
