Another FoBAB beer. You never know what you'll get when you age a Scottish Ale in a Bourbon Barrel. This one is described as, "Strong Scottish Ale aged in a Blantons Bourbon barrel for 10 months". It does not dissapoint. Terriffic bready and toasty flavors without the yeastiness. Caramel and a faint butter pecan flavor from both the style and the barrel. Alcohols are definately increased. Almost too rough for the style, but the Blantons does impart nuttiness, earthiness, muskiness, and a woody character along with the sweet, hot alcohol. The colors are typical copper - amber color with nice legging. The head disapeared quickly, giving way to a less than syrupy texture. It's a sipper but well worth the try.
