This below average dunkelweizen shows very restrained aromas and flavours. Some nuts are noted along with some esters. Heavy carbonation. There are better example of this style

Enjoyed with dinner at the Schloss Stuberl in Berchtesgaden. Poured a cloudy, tawny, somewhat chestnut-brown color, with a big, foamy head; head shrinks down to a thin layer, and nice lacework is produced. Nose is good, with emphasis on the malt and clove. Had a decent body, and was fairly smooth, with just a hint of roughness on the tongue. Flavor is dominated by clove, with nice banana notes and malt sweetness lurking about. There's an almost-chocolate hint to it, also, and the flavors linger pleasantly on the palate. Prosit!!
