A: nothing much to look at from the street - easily missed and with no real parking to speak of... Inside, small and fairly non-descript initially until you spot some craft gems on the counter, and a couple of aisles of craft just past the edge of the front counter; several doors of cold craft adjacent
Q: struck by the freshness of some key items - fresher than in the other 5 or so stores I shop at on the island; everything looked reasonably well-maintained, and there was a lot to take despite it being packed into a relatively small area
S: a greeting at the door, quick light banter at the counter, and I'm out... You can mix a six, which is always good, and just about everything is priced.. Reasonable prices, and the cashier alerted me up front to a couple of prices so I wouldn't be caught off-guard if they were high.
S: decent amount of product to choose from, including items I hadn't seen elsewhere on the island, across a broad range of popular and local brewers. New or popular stuff on the cashier counter. Easy to walk out with a nice haul.
Recommended to me by guinness77 and 2xmd, and I would likewise recommend it.

Andrew is awesome. His connections are awesome. He typically doesn't implement insane specialty purchase measures for the exclusive stuff, which is a huge plus for me, and did I mention, his connections are awesome? From this very establishment I've tried numerous beers listed in the Top 50 on Beer Advocate. I've even had a few from the Top 10 and 15. THAT exclusive. They also maintain a Facebook presence alerting customers to bottle limits of the rare stuff, when said rare stuff arrives and when it's out... something more distributors should be doing. Unfortunately this is no longer my local beer distributor, but I do try to stop in whenever I'm in the area. There's always bound to be something excellent in store.

Honestly Hicksville Beer & Soda is a great place if you want to start getting involved with craft beer. The owner is knowledgeable and he will try his best to get the best beers in. His tap selection is pretty good as well. As long as I do not have to drive out of my way to get something I am a happy customer.

I was working in the area and stopped in here after reading the current selection on Beermenus.com - looks like a typical beverage distibutor , but the craft selection is a few notches above - The back of the store had a few coolers full of craft and an aisle shelf of good craft beer - a few growler fill taps up front were of high quality stuff, the owner offered me a taste of Racer 15 - the owner was friendly and very knowledgeable of his wares - Recommended !

New owner.
Really nice and helpful owner. Quite knowledgeable, and very eager to help. Offers to try to find anything he does not have, and tries to stock rare and sought after brews, at a reasonable cost.
Picked up a wonderful growler of Victory - Golden Monkey on my last visit, along with a Maine Beer Company - Mean Old Tom and a fresh bottle of Alesmith - Speedway Stout.
Excellent selection of hard to find brews, and nice, serveral tap growler station. Even keeps the empty growlers in the fridge!
HUGE improvement over the old owner!
