6 euro/pint @ Ale&Hop Barcelona. On-draught.
9% ABV. Imperial milk stout.
A: Nice khaki cap. Creamy and robust. Lasts ~7 minutes.
Body is an opaque black.
Sm: Dark malt sweetness. Chocolate malt. A blip or vanillin. Aromatic intensity is below average.
I detectno booze nor off-notes.
T&Mf: Artificially creamy and oddly light-bodied, with the usual smoothness and wetness. Thin and weak. Poor presence on the palate. Well-carbonated.
Taste is too sweet even for a milk stout. Hershey's chocolate syrup, dark malt sweetness, Lactose sugar.
Simple and shallow, with poor balance. I don't care much for this one.
O: Difficult to drink given its wanting quality and noticeable ABV. A subpar milk stout with nothing to offer the discerning drinker. Might be good for luring newcomes to craft - the kind of casual American drinker who'd say "Ooh I like this! It tastes like chocolate."
Low D+ / AVOID
