On tap at TH.
If I've learned anything from Sgt. Salamander, it's that adding syrup to a Berliner is acceptable. I was never into doing it before, but now I know it can be a good thing.
JJ poured a slightly hazy copper color, with a small fizzy white head that soon dissipated to nearly nothing; minimal lacing, some tiny bubbles rose from the bottom of the glass. In the nose, toasted wheat, lacto-citrus, mineral. The base beer tasted about like your average TH Berliner, toasted grain, wheat, notes of lemon and apple, mineral, with a slight sourness coming through; the syrup spike brought in a low-level sweetness, laced with grapefruit pith, and some earthy spice. Body was light-medium, acidity was mild, carbonation was moderate for the style. Decent overall.
