Cask at the pub. Menu says it's Citra not Simcoe.....
A - Pours murky brown with a nice one and a half finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a light film, leaving sticky webs of lace on the sides of the glass.
S - Smells pretty similar to the base. The rye spice dominates while the fruity, grassy hops try and hold it in check. Plenty of grains and mild sweetness backing.
T - Here is where the hops make their mark. Starts off with the grassy citra hops quickly being joined by the spicy rye, caramel and toffee sweetness, pine and some chewy malt. Finish is a mix of spice, bitterness and mild sweetness lingering long after the finish.
M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, hoppy feel initially finishing sweet and spicy.
O - A nice improvement on the base beer. The extra hops don't really show themselves in the nose but they come through well in the taste and feel.
