Kölsch beer brewed with rye, oats, and wheat. This is our first stab at this highly revered (by us) style and we couldn't be happier with it.

thanks to tenderbranson69 for sharing this, enjoyed chilled from the growler in a 1/2 pint.
The color is golden with light haze and thick white head with fine bead -lace sticks very well in ringlets. The smell is mild with slight floral accent and mild spice ester in the yeast profile with subtle malt aroma. The feel is decent with mild malt body and gentle yeast fruitiness with earthy quality and subtle hop bitterness with toasted grain texture and moderately carbonated.
The flavor is slightly toasted and earthy with yeast bringing some spice alongside the hop flavors with subtle woody quality and mild medicinal edge with a hint of band-aid and mild grass from the hops as it finishes dry. Overall a pretty mediocre example, not bad as far as golden ales go but as a true kolsch just slightly above average

32oz growler poured into a tegu
Appearance: Pours a bright yellow color with 2 fingers of white, soapy head. Body is lightly hazy.
Smell: Light crackery malt, pear, white grape, some spicy wheat character.
Taste: Pale malt, grain, pear, wheat and hint of lemon. Bit of a pilsner like character going on as well. Finishes with a very mild lingering bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Light and crisp with medium carbonation.
Overall: Another good one from Tired Hands. I haven't had enough kolschs to really say how "to style" this one is, but it's simple, refreshing and tasty. Worth trying.

32 oz growler filled on 11/28 poured into a teku
A- A slightly hazy yellowish copper with a small white head
S- Citrus, light fruits, rye, wheat, balanced nicely, very pleasent.
T- Wheat, rye with a nice spicy rye in the finish, citrus, hints of lemons, well balanced.
M- Smooth, crisp, light to medium body.
O- A tasty beer that is easy to drink. This is the first Kölsch and this is making me want to seek out a good German example of the style.

Served on-tap at the brewpub. Pours slightly hazy golden yellow with a one finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a light film, leaving spotty lace on the glass.
Smells of bready wheat, bit of spice from the rye, lightly toasted malt, dash of citric and some light funky must. Taste is pretty much the same. Grains dominate from start to finish with a bit of fruitiness and must breaking it up here and there. Bready feel but not to the point of being overbearing.
Overall a good "Tired hands style" kölsch I guess. It isn't as crisp and I usually prefer them to be but I still enjoyed it none the less. Thanks for the pour Jean!
