Dense & lush Imperial Stout conditioned atop a custom espresso roast from our main dudes at @reanimatorcoffee as well as a delicate amount of fresh lemon zest. Espresso Romano anyone?

Appearance: Arrives coal black with a modest head that leaves a few splashes of lacing
Smell: Chocolate, roast and coffee tones, with a nice hint of lemon
Taste: Chocolate and roast forward, with a blast of coffee flavor that builds through the middle; all of the traditional American double stout flavors are present but the surprise is with the lemony element in the finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation
Overall: The interesting finish on this beer makes me wonder why nobody appears to have thought about this concept previously; while lots of brewers are being creative with fruited sours, etc., the imperial stout style offers few surprises.....until now; kudos to Tired Hands for trying something new

Pours a very dark brown that settles into the glass near black with a thin ring of mocha-colored bubbles. Aroma is coffee grounds, roasted malt and just a hint of lemony citrus. Everything comes through in the flavor as well; big coffee punch with lots of roasted malts adding some smokey and sweet notes, with the hints of lemon towards the finish. Feel is full bodied, slick and oily and very drinkable for the massive flavor and abv. A great coffee beer that is not a coffee bomb. The lemon works nicely here.

Pitch black viscous pour with a small tan head that never quite forms and doesn't lace well. Notes of espresso, touch of sweet cream, light citrus pop, and charred bread. Velvety smooth and creamy feel with a decently dry finish that leaves a coffee bitter aftertaste. This was a fantastic snd different coffee beer from the run of the mill in this style.

Jet black in color, dark tan head, decent lacing. Rich espresso aroma and taste. But not bitter. Thick mouthfeel, good body for a rich beer. overall very well done.

12/31/15 - On tap at TRIA in Philly. Served in their signature tall stemmed "T" goblet. Dark brown with slight head that swirls nicely on the surface. Oh so good with thick coffee overtones - while maybe a dessert beer, this would also go well with French Toast any time of the day. Swirl it again for a bit more head. Get some before it's gone. This is a great one.

Tasted at Monk's Cafe in Philadelphia in a 10 oz. Tulip glass.
Lucius body with dark head. Warm coffee, chocolate notes, finishing clean. Unexpected tinge of the lemon left it without any bitter flavors. I'd have it again in a heartbeat.

Phenomenal brew. Reminiscent of espresso with the lemon rind. Very well balance and unique but not over the top. A little on the sweet side but overall fantastic.
