Parageusia6 is a Cabernet Franc barrel-fermented Ale that I brewed with wheat malt at Tired Hands Brewing Company. At this point, Parageusia6 is nineteen months old, The yeast used to ferment this beer is a melange of yeast cultured by Tired Hands Brewing Company as well as yeast and bacteria resident to Ardmore, Pennsylvania. I believe that people of this time may refer to my Ale as a "Saison" or perhaps a "Wild Ale". Archaic stylistic descriptions aside, I find Parageusia6 to be very engaging and enjoyable; Bone dry with a bright under-ripe melon acidity, pungent barrel character, and a refined prickly pear presence.

500ml bottle, served in a snifter glass. Pours a light golden straw yellow body, one finger white head, good retention, bits of lacing. Smells of distinct blue cheese, light vinous character, touch of grain, lemon, mild lactic acidity. Interesting aroma, seems to be a little still in some respects, not sure how to put it. It's maybe lacking a little aggressiveness that it could use, if that makes sense. Flavour follows; cheesy and funky, light vinous character, not particularly tannic, wheat germ, light lactic acidity. As stated before, seems to be lacking that little something to take it to the next level. Still, very tasty. Light astringency on the backend. Mouthfeel is medium-lighter bodied, good carbonation, smooth and a bit less dry than expected. It sticks with you for a moment longer than you'd expect.

Shimmering gold with minimal white film, settling to a Madeira wine-like appearance.

Smell is funky cheese, pie crust, and lemon.

Taste is acetic lemon and grapefruit, very dry.

500ml bottle into a 10oz taster glass

A: Light golden orange with less than a finger of head that dissipates almost instantly. Lightly hazy. Tiny amounts of visible carbonation.

S: Funk, grape, oak, a bit of red berry.

T: Follows the aroma. Barnyard funk, oaky red wine, grape, lemon and a hint of vanilla in the finish.

M: Light bodied with light-ish carbonation. Dry.

O: About middle of the road for the Para series, but that's still pretty damn good
