thanks to my brother for sharing this growler with JC and me enjoyed in a snifter
The color is golden with a surprising amount of clarity for a 'milkshake' beer. The smell is like strawberry shortcake -sweet floral fruity and bready with a mild alcohol aroma. The feel is mildly sweet with some gentle berry-like tanginess and slight bitterness with a moderate alcohol presence with semi-sweet finish.
The taste is primarily strawberry and vanilla with a subtle malt foundation adding some malt sweetness to the flavor with mild hops in the middle and more alcohol in the taste as it warms with slight warming in the back and balance of sweetness in the finish. Overall I was impressed by how much different this imperial version was from the usual 'Milkshake' not as thick but still a lot of fruit in the flavor

Day-old 32 oz growler from TH Brew Cafe.
A: Golden/straw colored, very clear unlike other Milkshake incarnations. Two fingers white head quickly dissipates into a very thin foamy covering and thicker ring. Lacing is sticky and very fine.
S: Strawberry/melon sugar and booze. Pinot noirish?
T: Vodka-infused strawberries. Boozy sweetness. Cinnamon, vanilla.
M: Not bad for the ABV.
O: Too cloying. Not a bad beer, hearty ABV, but nowhere close to the other Milkshake versions.
"Double IPA. 10.5% It was a year ago we tapped the first Milkshake, so to celebrate we went back to the OG recipe but added more of everything for one killer Milkshake! Brewed with oats, lactose sugar, and wheat flour. Conditioned atop Madagascar vanilla beans and an absurd amount of strawberry purée. Hopped with Mosaic and Citra. Dreamt up with Omnipollo.
-Notes of candied berries, fresh compote, dank and creme de la creme."
