Collaboration with Royal Sushi & Izakaya. Helles lager with all German pils malt and a touch of American hops. Post fermentation, conditioned atop 300lbs of fully dressed (rice vinegar, salt, and sugar) sushi rice prepared the day of addition, as well as a very healthy amount of unfiltered/unprocessed yuzu juice, then lagered for five weeks.

From draft at TH. Pours a pale yellow with minimal head. Crisp lemony taste. Really delicious! Leaning toward the saison side of a lager! Anyway, a delightful brew.

On tap at Royal Sushi & Izakaya.
Yeah, I went to this. There was a small hype over the beer, mainly because of the sweet glassware "exclusive" to the event. And when there's glass to be had, you know I'll be around. (Though as chance had it, I just happened to be in the general area that night.) Anyway, I'm not a big lager guy, but there was a lot more going on here than just that. First off, appearance. So the glass was a 22oz. Frankfurt stein, with a fish samurai on one side, and the TH "T" logo on the other. The beer was a light yellow color, yuzu cloudiness, with a fluffy white head. Biscuits and citrus in the aroma. No doubt of this being a lager on first sip, crackery malts, yeast, but then an influx of fresh zesty lemon tartness, with a subtle salt finish. Came off almost as a Berliner, and was essentially a rice-Helles-gose-Berliner hybrid, which I'm pretty sure has never been done before. Body was light, and honestly I could belly up and drink something like this all night, with a good plate of sushi or Japanese grill in front of me...or even some speckwurst and kartoffelpuffer.
