Ramos Gin Fizz Milkshake IPA is the next iteration in our ever-evolving, genre defining, culinary IPA series. Brewed with copious amounts of oats and lactose sugar. Conditioned atop an abundance of luscious Madagascar vanilla beans and a blend of heavy amounts of lemon and lime purées, dried juniper berries, and a heady dash of orange blossom. Fragrant notes of candied meyer lemon, vanilla sorbetto, tart citrus curd, tangerine zest, springtime innocence and heady botanicals. Perhaps the most “complex” of our Milkshake IPA series yet =)

Pours a hazy, murky lemon colored golden. 2 finger frothy head. Retention is ok, Minimal lacing on the glass.
The nose is Not very hoppy, to be honest, and what I get is strange. I get a lot of lemon. I get a creamy aroma. I get a hint of lime. Very interesting combo.
Taste - I get a nice lemon and lime kick to this, along with the lactose backing it up. It smooths out the citrus flavor a bit.
Creamy body. The citrus has a bit of a bite, but it is mellowed out by the lactose.
A strange combo, but it works and it works well.

Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Hazed golden pour with thick fluffy white head. Great lacing.
S: Citrusy hops, lime, and juniper.
T.F: Semi-sweet up front... lactose and strong citrus. Lemon, lime, and orange. Juniper/gin but not strong... just a bit for spice. Tropical fruit, vanilla, and some floral character. Modest bitterness for balance. Creamy and smooth on the tongue. Medium bodied. Some tart lime and juniper to finish.
O: Super tasty and refreshing... great flavor combos that really worked well. Loved this one.

lime for daysss, dancing around with sharp orange peel, slightly sweet meyer lemon, vanilla bean, lime flavored whipped cream, slightly grassy and bitter herbaceous green quality. very zippy and light, less dense and sweet than other milkshakes, while still retaining a pleasant creamyness and hint of vanilla flavor. wow!

Notes were from two tastings of this beer. One was fresh, one was a month old. Notes below are really mostly reflective of the month old. Poured from cans into my TH pint glass.
L: Typical milkshake cloudy gold color and a two finger white head. Nice lacing as always.
S: Loads of lime and lemon, juniper, pine needles and some slight sugar sweetness.
T: Right away you get the "gin" notes with huge amounts of lime and lemon, the juniper and pine needles mix in with some slight mint, grapefruit and tart fruit. There is som underlying sweetness with the vanilla, but the finish turns really tart with the lime and juniper coming back in. This beer really smoothed out as it aged and turned more into a classic milkshake type beer. Young, this was much tarter and the mouthfeel was sharper.
F: The longer this sat, the creamier the mouthfeel got. Young it was much tarter. Very little alcohol and nice carbonation.
O: This was another really different milkshake that ended up being pretty good. This is far from my favorite, but I really enjoyed them. The longer they aged, the more the standard milkshake flavors started to come out. Funny how each iteration is that much different, I ike it.

L - 2-finger sparse offwhite head atop a murky yellow body.
S - lime, citrus, bread, candy.
T - definitely getting the gin on the taste. A lot of lime too. Some vanilla. Slightly tart. Moderate sweetness. No bitterness. Low booziness.
F - medium-full body with moderate carb.
O - an odd duck, this one.
