St. SixSixSixer is our Mixed Fruit Anniversary IPA brewed with just enough fluffy malted oats. Conditioned on six pungent fruits (passionfruit, pineapple, lime, grapefruit, guava, and tangerine), and dry hopped with six of our favorite hop varietals (Galaxy, Mosaic, Citra, Idaho 7, Simcoe, and Chinook). Notes of rainbow sherbet, white gummi bears, lime zest, and tart champagne mango.

First impression was that it was over carbonated like Ginger Ale. Second impression was that the fruit was overzinged like some sour grapefruit children's candy. While I never drain pour, I came close to it with this one. I then read a couple reviews suggesting this this is more like a Hudson Valley sour than a typical TH IPA so maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing, and on second read of the description, I read "pungent" and "tart champagne" so I thought maybe they were going for a mild sour and maybe my expectations were too focused more on the gummy bear fruity bear IPA angle. After letting it warm up to room temperate like I would with a sour, and changing my mindset a bit, I grew to really appreciate this beer. Regardless - I think it might have worked better in a bomber or larger format bottle, or if they billed it more strongly as a sour in a can, as the first half I kept thinking to myself "this is really not good at all", and then after my kick in the head discovery it was more like "damn, I wish I knew this going into it so I would have enjoyed the first half more...".

Cloudy per style with dull Amber body and white head
Smell is a mix of sweet tropical citrus hops yeast and lactose aroma which the sweet element
Mouthfeel is smooth and tangy medium carbonation and bitterness warming with alcohol and slight bitter finish
The taste is like a hybrid five alive orange Julius and IPA mixed with a creamsicle all in one it has beer screwdriver orange taste yet not harsh because of the lactose it does have a lot of hop flavor with nice subtle grapefruit and pith in the finish
Overall a better taste on tap but not by much A milkshake more or less in a smooth silken six citrus flavored IPA that is intensely hop flavored and keeps the palate buzzing with a blend of citrus fruitiness and hop tropical herbal flavors

This taste is certainly complex as expected with 6 fruits and 6 hops. At first the only fruit I tasted was lime, but eventually I tasted some of the others.
There was something familiar about this beer and by the end I finally figured it out. It tasted like a less sour version of a Hudson Valley sour IPA. Not sure if that’s what they were going for but if you like Hudson Valley give this a try.

St. SixSixSixer - Tired Hands
Mixed Fruit IPA - 7.1% abv
Canned 5/29/18 (19 days ago)
Purchased for $22/4 at Tired Hands
L - 1-fnger sparse bright white head atop a glowing, just barely opaque orange body.
S - papaya, mango, vanilla, grapefruit. Really appealing nose here.
T - semi-sweet fruit cocktail. Slightly sugary but not off the rails sweet. Noticeably tart middle. Sour lemons mixed with some dirty hops. Low bitterness. Low booziness.
F - medium body with appropriate carb.
O - This tastes like no other ipa I’ve yet encountered. It is NOT a citrus showcase, but I’d still call it “juicy” due to the other fruits being very prominent. This strikes me as a better-done version of those fruit ipas that Ballast Point and others were pushing a few years back. It’s very tasty, and quite refreshing on this scorcher of a day.

Very light. Not danky. Wish it had a little more body.
