Trendler Doppelbock is a tribute to our favorite strong lagers from Bavaria. This one, our first run at this monastic style, is built from a plethora of German malts and hopped lightly with Hallertau Mittelfrüh. Fermented extra cool with our house Lager strain and stored cold for roughly 3 months. Notes of medium toast, cantaloupe, light pecan, concord grape and toffee.

15 month old can here, which seemingly hurts this rating
Head dissipates quickly, carbo has probably faded from fresher
Nose is virtually nonexistent, however there are scents of toffee and sweet malt
Flavors are still quite full presenting brown sugar, pumpernickel bread, toffee, caramel, and pecan
Body is thinner than expected
Overall this is a decent drinker, but aging doesn't seem the way to go for this brew. I would assume a fresh can would have a bit more feel and carbonation to carry things home. Still decent considering

Appearance - The beer was a copper red color with a bubbly white head.
Smell - The nose was sweet with notes of malt and berries.
Taste - The initial taste was sweet, with a heavy chocolate presents. Other notes included cherry and sweet malts. Darker malts came through in the finish, making it seem close to the traditional style.
Mouthfeel - The beer had some lingering power as the style would suggest.
Overall - This take on the style was a bit too sweet for me.

Shades of dark brown body with a full tan head. Malt forward nose with caramel, big dark fruit and german yeast accenting. Taste adds oxidation, biscuit, and toasted caramel malt accents. Malty yet decently carbonated for style, yeast dries a bit in a rewarding way, slightly boozy though

Pours a clear dark amber (bordering on red) with several fingers of uber-fluffy, light khaki-colored head. Smells very bready and yeasty with dark dry fruit notes. Raisin bread, I guess. It's also got some sweeter notes with brown sugar and orange marmalade. Smells real nice. Tastes almost exactly as it smells; sweet and malty and very nice. Soft and fluffy mouthfeel that lands on the northern tier of medium-bodied. Alcohol presence and hop bitterness are pretty well buried in malt and that is just fine by me. I love this style anyway, but this is a pretty damn great dopplebock.

16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 2/2/22, so 4 days old.
Looks excellent in the glass. Crystal clear ruby red body. Small off white head shrinks to a ring and faint covering, no lacing.
Strong aroma of sweet malt with a dash of toffee.
On tasting, pretty much follows the nose. There is a very fleeting bitter note, but sweet malt rules the roost here.
Mouth between medium and full, finish sweet, and the abv shows up with a nice warmth through the chest.
Overall, well made beer as you would expect from TH. Enjoy their Trendler series, always good and interesting styles.

Had this on 2019-06-15 from a 16oz canned on 2019-04-15
Clear ruby brown with tan head. Rich malt, caramel and earthy spice. On the sweet side. Medium body and light carbonation. Close to style.

Pouring from a 16 oz. can into a tulip glass, this beer pours out a beautiful shade of amber red with hints of caramel and wood like highlights. Great clarity. It manages to form a pinky width of tingy yellow bubbles that only hold for a minute or so before leaving just an outer ring attached to the glass.
The nose brings a sweetness that is absolutely phenomenal. I’m getting some toasted caramel, pecans, pie crust and toffee.
The taste carries all of that as well with adding a light touch of fruit to the picture. I would definitely say cantaloupe. The way the kind of bready, sweet caramel and pecan notes are mixing for me almost is like if they made a pecan infused pie crust.
The mouthfeel is sticky and full without bearing too much for what it is.
Overall, Tired Hands has some serious winners with this series.

Poured into a snifter. Beautiful, nearly clear copper color with a medium sized tan head. Great lacing in the glass. Aroma was malty as expected, with caramel, dark bread, and melanoidin. The taste followed. The rich, bready flavor was there with some melanoidin, faint caramel, and faint toffee. Medium bodied and off-dry on the finish. Delicious and well-made.

Clear amber-bronze, effervescent, with a half-finger of short-lived, fizzy tan head. Zero lacing. I want to rate the appearance higher because clear beer is something of a rarity these days, but it’s mugly.
Big toasted caramel aroma. There are some light, earthy hops behind, but malt runs the show.
Big malt in the taste, too: toasted caramel, brown bread, grape cough syrup, flat Vanilla Coke, flat root beer, molasses cookies. A hint of alcohol in the finish.
On the heavy side of medium bodied with a really slick, creamy feel and little burst of carbonation upon swallowing.
Very lovely taste and feel in this one. If it had a lasting head and some lacing, I’d be over the moon.
