Trendler Helles is our newest addition to our Trendler series! A beautifully crisp and intensely refreshing Old World meets New World Lagerbier, brewed for Jean's grandfather Joseph Trendler. Composed with a curated selection of German Pilsner & specialty malts, and hopped with a tactful helping of Hallertau Mittlefruh & New Zealand Pacific Jade. Fermented with a yeast derived from a renowned Munich brewery, and cold conditioned for eight weeks.

Golden yellow in color with a light haze. Poured with a healthy, soapy white foam with good retention. Medium pilsner malt aroma with a light note of grain. Medium light bodied with medium carbonation and dry, crisp finish. Medium malty and light grainy flavors followed by medium, herbal hop bitterness that carries through the finish. On the hoppier more bitter side for the style. Light, refreshing, crisp and flavorful.

Got in a trade with larryi86. 16 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 8/20/2019. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lemon, lime, orange, peach, melon, citrus peel/zest, wood, peppercorn, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light nutty, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big lemon, lime, orange, peach, melon, citrus peel/zest, wood, peppercorn, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light nutty, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, lime, orange, peach, melon, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light nutty, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a fantastic malt/bitterness balance, and no astringent hop flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal yeasty notes. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is an incredible German helles. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/dryness finish. Nicely soft and not aggressive. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Fantastic Hallertau Mittlefruh and Pacific Jade profile. Extremely vibrant, earthy, and fairly dank hops; with a perfectly balanced clean pils/Munich malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering crisp resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and top tier style example.

Relatively clear straw, effervescent, with three fingers of foamy, near-white head. Good retention. Spotty lacing.
Grass, hay and a little lemon and skunk in the nose. Just a touch of cake-like malt.
The taste follows. Crisp. Hay and grass-like bitterness. Less malt than usual, but a hint of bready doughiness. Hint of sulfur, too.
A bit more heft to the feel than usual for the style, but not excessively so. Strong carbonation.
A nice, clean, zippy lager with a bit more bitterness than expected. Very drinkable. I like this better than Trendler Pils or Helles With Other People, although it may be less traditional that both.

Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Clear light golden pour with big fluffy white head. Great lacing.
S: Light malts/grains and lemony hops.
T.F: Clean and light... fresh grains, sweet bread, lemongrass and light citrus. A bit of yeast/spice... modest bitterness. Refreshing... light bodied and balanced.
O: An outstanding German Helles. Light, drinkable, crisp, and clean. Tired Hands nailed the style. Love the modest ABV.

Canned 11 days ago.
The look is golden-yellow with the slightest chill haze and 2 fingers of rocky head (4.25)
The nose is cracker, lemon, hay, and white pepper. There's a nice depth of doughy bread (4)
The taste is a traditional Helles. Lemon, cracker, bread, and lightly bitter hops (4)
The mouthfeel is the highlight of this beer. It's hefty for both the style and ABV, opening substantial and finishing both wet (round) and dry at the same time (4.5)
Overall, very nice (4.25)
