2018 version from a 16 oz can into an only void stout glass.
Look-
Ink black with a 2 inch frothy, chocolate-brown head. Mesmerizing.
Smell-
Sweet, the vanilla and lactose overpower the coffee on the nose.
Taste-
The coffee is more prevalent here. Great blast of coffee followed by the rush of vanilla. Far more balanced on the tongue than nose. Deep flavors in a deep stout base.
Feel-
Thick, an oatmeal stout feel for sure.
Overall-
Great breakfast stout, imagine only void with natural sweetener.

Poured as a jet black color with a thin brown head on top. The smell has some subtle coffee and chocolate on the nose. The taste has a good amount of flavor, definitely on the sweeter side. The feel is smooth and full bodied. Overall the beer is pretty solid, was nice to try it.

From 16oz can purchased at the can release in early June. From the Instagram post: “Cryptical Envelopment is our @awakemindscoffee Coffee, Madagascar Vanilla, and Pandan Imperial Milk Stout. Brewed with an unnecessarily dense mash bill, and more than enough lactose sugar. Conditioned on our very own Awake Minds coffee (we roasted a real nice chocolatey Brazilian bean for this one), as well as comforting pandan leaves and gobs of whole Madagascar vanilla beans.
