DDH Alien Church (Simcoe) is the intensely amplified & totally fuzzed out iteration of our Reptoid Alien with Photosynthesizing Tongue Oat IPA. Brewed with the same fluffy malted oats as always, and hopped, as always, super aggressively with Cascade and Columbus. Dry hopped with the same huge dose of the choicest Citra, Mosaic, and Chinook we’ve come to love and then absolutely pummeled with our forever & ever favorite sweetheart hop, SIMCOE, for the secondary dry hopping. 7.0% ABV. Notes of pineapple spritz, Orange Julius, dried mango slices, with a very subtle refreshing spruce tip thing goin’ on & peach water ice with lil bits of fresh peach sprinkled about.

Poured from a 16-oz can into pint glass in November 2023. There was a brewed date on the label of 10/20/2023. I bought this at the Ardmore brewpub and drank this less about 1 week after purchase.
Appearance: Light gold color with huge white head. It is a bright and has a very hazy complexion, like New England IPAs. Head is very thick, and it lasts a minute time, leaving a small covering. There is a medium amount of lacing on the glass.
Smell: The aroma filled the room while the beer was being poured. Strong aroma of citrus, pine, and hops, as well as some sweetness like pineapple. Also, a little earthy or straw aroma. Overall, the citrus aroma dominates the other aromas.
Taste: Sweet taste with a strong bitter hops edge. There is also a nice malt sweetness as well, and also some berry flavors. There is a typical hops and citrus flavor, but with some sweetness as well. This is bitter like most other New England IPAs, but it is very well-balanced. Has a very nice after-taste that lasts a long time. Overall a nice balance and very drinkable.
Mouthfeel: Medium-Strong bodied, which makes this very drinkable. Medium-Strong alcohol, which matches the 7.0% listed.
This is a very good and interesting IPA. It has a nice mix of citrus, grapefruit, hops, malt, and other flavors, which makes it enjoyable. I like the overall balance, and that the citrus flavors are pronounced but do not dominate the flavor. I like this a little better than their standard Alien Church, but they are both great. It has more of a hop edge than many other IPAs. This would be a good IPA to drink often.
Alien Church is one of my favorite IPAs along with the Dogfish 90 Minute and 120 Minute IPAs, Victory's DirtWolf, Sierra Nevada's Hoptimum, Troeg's Perpetual IPA, and any IPA from Tree House. Tree House and Tired Hands are my overall favorite IPAs. I will definitely buy this again.

All the things that you love about normal Alien Church, but the dose of double dry hopped Simcoe brings this to that next level. Definitely a staple for someone who likes hops

Poured from a 16 oz can dated 1/13/2021 into a Willi Becher pint glass.
L - Pours a hazy orange color with a fluffy white head that dissipates slowly.
S - Smells of tropical fruits
T - Taste matches the smell, lots of tropical fruit with a slight bitterness.
F - Nice creamy beer with a medium body and carbonation.
O - I love Alien Church, but this DDH version is fantastic.
