16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 11/23/21, so 3 weeks old.
Mixed look in the glass. Clear pale golden yellow body, clouds a little with the last few ounces. The head disappears very quickly, hence no lacing.
Aroma is smokey and a little hammy.
On tasting, the meaty aspect doesn't come through. The smoke is a lighter touch than the nose would suggest. It's clean, very drinkable and nicely balanced.
Mouth just about medium, finish smoke and a hint of sweetness.
Overall, a pretty decent rauchbier. Lacks the body of Aecht beers, but certainly has its place (in my fridge).

From a 16oz can dated 11/23/21. Essentially, a new iteration of a TH beer from 2015 which had a little higher abv. From the TH Instagram post: “ Trendler Rauchbier - Smoked Lager: 4.8% Inspired by our favorite smoked lagers from Bamberg, this was a deep dive into a style we've been wanting to do for way too long! Brewed with a grist consisting of 40% beechwood smoked malt, pilsner, and various specialty malts for a fuller body and depth of malt flavor. The presence of smoke is balanced just right. Hopped ever so gently with our trusty Hallertau Mittelfruh with notes of honey dipped biscuits by the campfire.” Very tasty.
