Head kicks its shoes off and hangs out for a minute whilst leaving patchy lace in its wake. Body looks the part of a pils; clear and yellow with tiny bubbles lazily wafting upward. Smells the part, too; to a point, anyway. There's some fruity notes from the hops that sort of take over. Grape and maybe I'm having a stroke but I'm getting pumpkin as well. Tastes... odd. Bitter, fruity pilsner. I'd be inclined to call it tasty, but it's really fucking bitter. Bitterness lingers forever too. Yikes. Balance just isn't there with this one.

16 oz can.

Looks great. Clear golden color with a huge fluffy white head.

The aroma is biscuity with some hay, orange, cracked pepper, and white grape.

The flavor is completely dominated by hops. Orange, grapefruit, cracked pepper, white grape, and a piney, earthy finish. The bready malt is present on the back but gets drowned out by bitter hops. I understand this is meant to be a hoppy pilsner, but there is zero balance here. Might as well call this an IPL, since that's basically what it is.

The feel is medium bodied with moderately high carbonation. Creamy. Exceeding bitterness lingers on the tongue.

Overall, I'm just not feeling this one. The look and the aroma are great, and exactly what you would expect from the style. But the hops are just far too strong and completely conceal the wonderful German malts this beer was brewed with. Like I said, call this an IPL and I'm on board. As a German pils, it's not that great.
