First off, it looks horrible. There's that too much wheat in the wort starchy white foam replacing a proper beer head. Not only is it unattractive in the way it recedes unevenly and with the irregular glass lacing, it usually means a below average body and taste for the style. Now that the foam has subsided enough inside a clear glass liter mug to the point that a pint can's contents can comfortably be emptied, a nice apricot-amber colored brew can be observed. The smell is of muted fruity hops, without any citrus bite. The taste is a nice blend of hops and some sort of starchy body, probably oats. This is its best attribute. The body is a little thin. Why the continued efforts to reinvent the wheel by eliminating barley malt from IPAs? Believe it, this would taste and show much better if there was more barley malt in the mix. Not bad, but...

From a 16oz can dated 04/06/2022. From the TH Instagram post: “ Do You recall its Name? No-boil Sustained Intraconically Hopped IPA. A love letter to one of our favorite mind-melting albums of all time. We started with a heavily flaked/malted oat base, and mash and vorlauf hop additions of Ekuanot. We skipped the boil to keep those oats screaming at maximum fluff after running off onto a first wort addition of Simcoe. The wort was then transferred into the whirlpool which we loaded heavily with our favorite New Zealand Pacific Jade. The real fun started when we dry hopped it four times throughout fermentation, with a total dry hop load surpassing what we'd normally do for our TDH beers. The first three additions were gentle sprinklings of Ekuanot, Simcoe, and Pacific Jade, respectively. We finally took the veil with a doubled-up addition of Ekuanot, Simcoe, and Pacific Jade before checking it in for a short stay at the Comatorium. EXTRASENSORY PERCEPTION, ya dig? Notes of yellow peach, under ripe oranges and mangoes, dried apricots, and the unforgettable memories of a hotboxed MKIII Jetta during a high school blunt-ride. 6.66% abv.” Delicious.
