Poured from a 16oz can into pint glass in October 2021. There was a canned on date of 10/19/2022. I bought the beer at their brew pub in Ardmore and drank it within a couple of days.
Appearance: Very dark black with a dark brown head. Head was about 2 fingers high, and lasted a minute. It left a little lacing on the glass, and ended with a thin tan head still on the beer.
Smell: Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. There is also some caramel, but overall the coffee and chocolate dominate the others.
Taste: There is a strong coffee, cherry, and chocolate flavors. Also some smoky roasted flavors, and I taste some licorice flavors. There is a small amount of bitter hop flavors to enhance the taste. There is a strong alcohol presence, which matches the 10% on the Tired Label website.
Mouth-feel: Full body but also smooth. It has a little edge as am Imperial Stout should, and is not as smooth as a milk stout.
This is a very good Stout, and I enjoyed the variety of bold flavors. There is a nice balance between the coffee and chocolate flavors. Only Void is one of my favorite stouts, and I like this version better. Even though it is a full-bodied beer, it is still smooth and enjoyable to drink. I would buy this again.
