HI!
12/29/2022
Or so says the bottom of the can. Anyway, this pours out looking like unfiltered pineapple juice with a big, fat middle finger's worth of fluffy white head. Pretty nice lacing. Still smells very bright even though it's an IPA that was canned over 3 months ago. Very lemon-forward. Oh. The can says they used actual lemons in this. And lemondrop hops and white sage and a couple Aussie hops. OK then. That explains the brightness. There's a little more there, too. Pineapple and green tea. Smells interesting; that lemon really takes center stage, though. Wow, what a strange tasting beer. Not bad, necessarily, just way out there. This kind of tastes like some kooky Athletic Brewing NA IPA. Straight tart lemonade right up front, followed by a more mellower orange juice hit and then an herbal lemondrop candy finish. Or maybe, like, lemondrops spliced with Riccola lozenges. Can you tell I ate a weed gummy an hour ago? Finishes refreshingly dry. What a unique beer. I give mad props for going way out on a limb with this one, and I think maybe I would like it even more in warmer weather. It's got a very Summer-y vibe.

From the TH Instagram post: “ Beautiful Flavor is a Lemon and fresh Sage IPA brewed with 2 Row and Raw Wheat. Hopped carefully with Cascade and delicately dry hopped with Motueka, Vic Secret and Lemondrop. We conditioned this beer on a boat load of fresh, bright lemon puree and hit it in the whirlpool with some Sage to round things out. Bright and effervescent but with minimal acidity, Beautiful Flavor will have you pining for the not so distant days of summer. Notes of Fruity Pebbles, ice cold green tea and fresh juniper.” Sage flavor is dominant. An acquired taste.
