Opaque dark brown body, no head. Smells of barley, Creme brûlée, toffee, very toasted caramel, dark dry earth, raisin, all backed by bourbon, dark soaked wood and char. Taste features raisin and fig soaked in bourbon, with supporting strong notes of toasted caramel, vanillins, wood tannins, and barley, with light supporting notes of black strap molasses, earth, and prune. Feel is very warm with boozy edges to the thick and heavy yet smooth and decently refined, slightly chewy

Bought this last fall I think, not sure why I haven't opened it yet. The red wax 4 year version was very good imo.
Thick and sticky overall with a massive flavor profile. This is plenty sweet with lots of layers, I think all of my descriptors will be dessert words. Maybe it's the booze that keeps things in check? Because overall this does not come across as obnoxiously sweet.
Molasses, sugar coated raisins, sugary dried pineapples, roasted nuts coated with cinnamon and sugar, cocoa powder, booze soaked fruit cake, etc. etc. etc. A little leathery tobacco.
The Deal With the Devil line is over priced and over hyped but they are generally really damn good. These extended barrel time versions that Anchorage does not do live up to the name. It's been too long so I can't say if this is as good as the red wax version but I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Fuck your wax, bro. With that out of the way and the bottle (mercifully) opened...
Pours real, real dark. Not quite imperial stout dark, but darker than, say, a quad. Modicum of whisky colored (and scented) head fades with the swiftness. It's got some alcohol legs if you swirl it about. As it should. It's listed here as 17% ABV, but I've also seen 16.5% listed elsewhere. Regardless, it's strong. Smells like it too. Not like scorch your nose whiskers crazy, but there's no hiding the alcohol. Notes of rum-soaked raisins, cocoa dust, cherry cordial, raisin bread and lots and lots of bourbon. Not so much the barrel, just straight-up bourbon. Initial tastings resulted in a slight back of the throat (and belly) burn, but get past that and there's alcohol-dosed bread pudding, chocolate chip cookies loaded with walnuts and gooey, quarter baked brownies. It's got some stout-y qualities and is very sweet. Sweetness is thankfully cut a bit by the barrel, though it's still pretty in-yo-face. Pretty solid mouthfeel (as far as viscosity goes) for something that spent so long soaking in booze (2 years, I believe). They went real light (almost still) with the carbonation and I think that was the right call. Good beer. Probably not worth the investment, but a good beer is a good beer.
LAter revision: Yeah, whatever. This tastes good and all but jesus christ is it way too sweet.
