Loaded w/ bursting vanilla beans and gobs of fresh and fragrant peach and banana purees. This is a new riff on one of our old BrewCafe favorites, Severe Head Wound. We kept most of the bones of that beer the same, hopping it w/ Citra and Chinook and blowing it out w/ a massive dry hop (this time w/ Citra, Chinook and Motueka) before finishing it w/ a tiny pinch of cinnamon and a generous dollop of vanilla.

If Banans Puree is your thing, you might like this one. This one was too far off the normal beer path for me. Ooze is a good name for this one, lived up to it. Also has some booziness to it as a DIPA.

From a draft pour at TH. A pleasant DIPA with light haze. Very similar to an earlier brew called Severe Head Wound. As the tap list stated: “ Notes of lil’ banana shaped hard candies, rose water and gooey peach cobbler.” Tasty!

SECRET OF THE
09/22/23
Ooze. They mean Secret of the Ooze.
Anyway, a big, airy head that takes forever settling in. Lotsa sticky lace. Body is a deep golden amber. Beautiful beer to the point where I'm actively trying not to stick my dick in it. Wait, what? Smells delightful as well. Lotta fresh peach that in no way overwhelms the hops. Citra stands out. I don't really get any vanilla or banana or cinnamon. I think they used a subtle hand with the "add junks", and I'm cool with that. I do taste all the additives (minus the cinnamon) on the tongue, but they're in no way overdone. This is still solidly an IPA; just one with some unique flavor accents. I always thought banana would be gross in a beer, but it works. At least in this one. It comes off in a very dessert kind of way. And now I'm starting to taste cinnamon on the very back end. It works as well. Incredibly tasty. Medium to damn near full-bodied without any chewy, sticky sweetness. Which is one hell of a feat. Finishes very dry. Does all this mean it's well-attenuated? Either way, goddamn. This is one fantastic beer and one that maybe would have been a complete mess in less capable hands. Hats off, Tired Hands.
