Trendler Hefeweizen is our newest additoin to our Trenler series of traditional lagers and ales brewed for Jean's grandfather, Joe Trendler. This was brewed with a base of carefully selected pilsner malt and pale wheat malt, and then hopped with Tettnanger hops. Hazy in color and SUPER refreshing! 5.2% Notes of fresh squeezed lemonade, banana pudding, clove, and Valencia orange

Poured from a twelve ounce can, the body was a slightly hazy yellow with large fluffy white head. Excellent lacing.

The aroma was standard Hefeweizen, a style I enjoy in warmer months, with the expected light banana and clove.

Taste follows nose but adds a citrus flavor so it tasted like a lemon slice was added as is customary in some places. Despite the citrus, the wheat base was still shouldering the taste.

Mouthfeel was good. The carbonation was quite strong on pour, but did not feel overly carbonated when drinking.

David generously shared this unique Trendler Hefeweizen with me, among many other local Pennsylvania beers. Served in a hefe glass at 42 degrees, the pour created a frothy, airy, two-fingered head with okay retention. The somewhat quick dissipation left no lacing on the glass. The color of the beer charts at S.R.M. 2 is pale straw with light golden hues. The clarity is slightly hazy, with a few yeasty floaties within. The beer's appearance, while slightly below average, holds a unique charm that piques curiosity.
Upon nosing the glass, the traditional hefe aromas of orange, lemon, wheat, lightly toasted malts, cloves, and banana are immediately noticeable. A second sniff reveals a faint floral, earthy, and herbal note, adding to the beer's unique aroma. The malt has a light cracker character, further enhancing the olfactory experience.
The beer is a flavorful journey, with distinct notes of orange, clove, banana, wheat, lightly toasted malts, lemon, earthy, light malty sweetness, and yeast. As the flavors develop further, a light phenol, grass, and crackers come into play, adding depth to the beer's unique flavor profile.
The mouthfeel is somewhat creamy and finishes smooth. The body is medium-light and has medium carbonation.
Trendler Hefeweizen, a light-bodied Hefe with a plethora of flavors, is a delightful experience. While I was expecting
