Macaroon Only Void - Pastry Imperial Stout - 10.5% - Our newest take on our beloved imperial stout, Only Void. Built from a ton of dark and specialty malts, roasted barley, midnight wheat, chocolate malt, caramel malt, and light caramel malt. Wedded to a base of 2-row and oats to give this it's perfect dense body. Bittered with a tad of Chinook, as always. We then added Madagascar vanilla beans and coconut! No more breath. No more hope. No more dawn. Only Void. Notes of marzipan squares, coconut cream, and a delectable lil treat at your favorite cafe.

16oz can sent my way by @jzeilinger
Poured into a Bissell Brothers tulip
Digging the can art!
P black w/ a 1-2f foamy tan head; looks solid; med-heavy lace left near the top
N med nose of cocoa, dark fruit, and sharp booze, w/ restrained sweetness overall
T much less sweet than anticipated for the style; lots of roast, char, and baker's choc; maybe a touch of vanilla and plum; just a hint of macaroon coconut sweetness as I drink; subtle coconut character in the aftertaste as well
Mf med-bodied (light for style, imo); lightly creamy; soft-med carb
O a decent imperial stout, but not quite what I expected- definitely less pastry-like and more roasty; thankful to have tried it, regardless!

A - Pitch black pour with a thick light caramel, dense creamy lacing ring and dense legs on the sides of the glass.
S - Dark chocolate and chocolate char malt backbone dominates along with some coconut and vanilla
T - Roasted chocolate char malt base from start to finish and dominates the palate while ending with a strong lingering chocolate char on the palate along with some underlying citrus (buried way far down) and residual caramel. Coconut and vanilla are present but less so as compared to the nose.
M - Slick mouthfeel while a sugary residue builds on the lips. For a 10% beer, warming is minimal on the way down.
O - Solid.
