PURPLE STICKY PUNGE is another riff on an old favorite, originally brewed for this year's PLANET PUNGE celebration, but we liked it so much we brought it back. Built on the classic base of 2-row and oats, and dry-hopped with our favorite super-dank New Zealand Nelson and Motueka. Then this batch got hit with a heavy handed dose of Bacio Gelato Cannabis flavoring to take the dankness to the next level! If you know, you know ;) Notes of resinous pine, musky cantaloupe, and being stuck in a bubble, but still able to cause trouble.

This is a very good NEDIPA with albeit an abrasive feel that somewhat negates its overall greatness. The base beer, Punge, is lively as ever with lush NZ hop notes and deep flavors coming forth. Then the Gelato comes in with powerful dank properties giving this beer a strong weed experience in a glass. The hoppy side is predominant with drying bitterness being available. Quaffs reveal an overage of carbonation that displace the creamy mouthfeel usually associated with NEDIPAs. Personally, this is not off putting to me, but technically it's a demerit in style. Overall, this is a wonderful beer with a unique take on the double hazy.

On draught, a murky grapefruit yellow with an orange tinge. A decent head and random lacing.
Citrus forward, mild grapefruit and
sweet/sour orange with a tangy bitterness, hints of resin, phenolic flavors in the background. Medium bodied mouthfeel.

Canned 04/07/26, into a stemless wine glass.
Pours a hazy light orange with massive white foam. Aroma is DANK upon dank, fresh sticky bud and tropical fruits. Flavor is similar. The terpenes do a lot of work here but it feels like it's just taking the hop flavors to the next level. I like Punge a lot and this is a good beer even without the adjuncts. The terpenes hit on the front and back end, adding a dank, earthy bitterness between the dry white grape and stone fruit character of the hops. There's a little malt and sweetness to even out the back end, and I really like the blend of adjunct and beer here. It's rather bitter on the back end, and alternates between sweetness and earthy bitterness on the finish before resolving as completely bitter. Very cool things happening. Feel is good, lower bodied for the style which is shocking, not super carbonated, and thick enough to really let the hop flavors come through without interfering. No ethanol, just a good blend of hop and adjunct bitterness.
Overall, it's a delicious adjunct IPA from Tired Hands. It's their bread and butter, and I thoroughly enjoyed this ultra dank take on my favorite IPA from them.

A - Opaque light golden tan pour with tons of sticky white lacing on the sides of the glass.
S - Crushed berry skins, light citrus, and lots of dank, herbally weed.
T - Crushed white grape skin, some mojito lime, light tropical fruit, basil, herbal presence, and subtle fruity bitterness to balance things out.
M - Big pillowy soft and chewy body with some warming in the throat on the way down.
O - Another solid D-IPA from TH.
