Triple Dry Hopped Found a Scythe is a THD'd version of our all Nelson Sauvin Double IPA. Brewed with a nice portion of red wheat malt. Hopped in the kettle and TRIPLE dry hopped with a silly amount of hyper-pungent Nelson Sauvin from New Zealand. Exceedingly dense, sticky and drippy/sappy tropical. Big notes of Key Lime pie, white grape juice, and Lychee-Orange Jelly.

Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a cloudy golden-orange body beneath a fluffy head of slightly off-white foam. Visible particulate has settled at the base of the glass. The aroma is tropically fruity and a touch vinous like a Sauvignon Blanc which is no surprise because this is loaded with Nelson Sauvin hops. It's possibly the brightest Nelson Sauvin aroma that I've ever encountered, and that would make sense as it's triple dry hopped. On to the taste, there's definitely some wheat to the sweetish malt but I'm not finding any oats. The hops are certainly there, both fruity and a little bit resinous, with notes of white grape, gooseberry, nectarine, tangerine, pineapple, peach, lychee, and guava. There's also a touch of spiciness that may or may not be at least partially due to the alcohol content at 7.7% ABV (their website states 8%). It's not that bitter but there is some alcohol and resin to it, and overall it's remarkably easy to drink for such a big beer. It finishes dry with some bitterness, alcohol, a touch of spiciness, and some berry lingering. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp. Now I have to say that I'm not the biggest fan of Nelson Sauvin but I don't shy away from it. This beer, however, has me leaning more towards it as it showcases it clearly, with no other hops distracting from it.
