Excessive Intent is our latest collab beer, this time with our friends at Evergrain Brewing Co! This is an ultra-juicy Double IPA, built on a base of Pale malt, Vienna malt, and malted oats for the haze and backbone. Hopped in the kettle with Enigma and Vic Secret, and then bombarded with a massive dry hop of Citra, Mosaic, and zesty New Zealand Nectaron! This one's got big notes of pineapple cream, peach gelato, extra drippy/ripe mango.

Received a can from @jzeilinger 4-24-26. Canned on 3-4-26; consumed 5-3-26. Cold stored since acquisition. Thanks Jeff!

Beer poured hazy dark orange with very nice head with the original pour.

Nose is full of sweet tropical fruit.

Taste is a larger malt base in which the hopping up front is giving me a lot of pineapple with a touch of secondary orange. Back-end bitterness is citrus zest and pineapple skin, a tad over the top; 8/10 on my bitterness scale. Finishes sweet yet oddly bitter, a bit disjointed.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.

Overall, this is a decent beer, but the choice and use of hops is not my favorite.

In a clear pint glass it arrived, after it was drawn from a tap. There's almost no off-white head on top, but that's the way we serve draft beers in Philadelphia. Orange-amber in color, it appears dense and well-carbonated. Perhaps it's the suggestion by the eyes, but the nose picks up notes of orangey sweetness. There's not that much more there. Thankfully, there's more to taste, much more. This is a hop lovers taste treat. There are notes of citrus zest, but even more with pine and resinous characters. The malt adds good body and smoothness to the mouthfeel, but very little to the flavor. As oats often do, here they add plenty of heft and softness to the body, but very little glass lacing. This one is all about the hops. The early hit is of the zest, but that quickly is overpowered by piney, which turns quite resinous. The aftertaste is bitter, all bitter and it lingers and it's wonderful. If the ABV is noticed at all, it's contributing to the hop bite. This doesn't even try for balance, it's all hops. For those that like that, this is a must try.

True hazy, not overly fruity, some piney flavor. Typically Tired Hands. Kudos to the brew master.
