Collaboration between Tired Hands and McKenzie, listed as a barrel-aged blend of Tired Hands' "Guillemot" pale ale (strange, because I think that base beer is a porter) and McKenzie's "It Was a Dark and Stormy Night" sour quad. I'll call it a strong ale, I guess.
Poured a dark woody brown with a tan ringlet of bubbles. Aroma is almost straight up red wine, with some hints of wood and toasted grains. Taste follows the aroma, strong with red wine, cherry tartness, caramel, toasted grains, with a subtle cocoa finish. Medium body, slightly puckering, quite drinkable. Very nice overall.
