just my second ever beer from these guys, a modern and delicious take on an italian pils, which definitely needs its own style listing here on BA. this is done with contessa and alora hops, varietals i expect are on the verge of explosion and play so well in lager like this. i love how clean and light and well refined this is, while also being super flavorful. it takes a lot of aroma and flavor from the grain, as a good pils should, without it being dense or sweet or even bready or all that european to me, its tidy and brisk the whole way, earthy, quality pils malt either way, nice and fresh. its a glowing super light yellow draft pour with a pure white head on it that relaxes back to a half inch or so. the hops are floral, bright, and without much bitterness, so this is hoppy lager without the bite, which is right on for the italian type, although i didnt find this as bold as many, a softer voice but far from a whisper. clover, lime leaf, junegrass, green melon, and green papaya, really lush and slightly juicy, distinctive for sure, as aromatic as it is flavorful, marries brilliantly with the clean fresh grain profile, and the lager yeast is subtle and out of the way but efficient in its work, found this dry and sprightly and repeatable. im finding there is a ton of diversity in this style right now, and the more of them i have, the more im both intrigued and on board. this is lovely, the hop profile makes it but the overall quality should also be recognized, well done!
