On tap. Pours amber with foamy white head. Taste is of caramel malt, herbal hops and ripe fruit. Long dry finish. Good brew.

Has some sort of ale-like quality with a faint hop tone, with slight bitterness that only lasts for a short time. Has a bit of metallic taste to it (maybe thanks to the can) with an amount of carbonation that makes it feel like a lager...
Not quite sure what this beer is trying to be, but it's neither really an ale nor a lager... it is more rounded though. The bitterness gets stronger as you drink it but somehow lacking the aroma hops. Is it trying to be an English Ale? Not sure. More likely a Bitter, but the Japanese are not that willing to tell what this is supposed to be, they just simply label it as an "ale", for it is something new still and it is a catchy label of the craft bandwagon.
So my evaluation is the same: not sure if this is okay or not... but nothing special for sure. Not even sure why I bothered to try it, why I hope that commercial manufacturers might make something worthy - but unfortunately they won't.
Ps. I had it again in two years. Did turn up the numbers a little bit, it wasn’t as bad as I reviewed it last time. Still pretty much on the weak side though, smells pretty okay though but the flavor doesn’t last long enough. The can says it’s brewed with two kinds of hops though (that I could not decipher since they weren’t that intensive?)
Still, the good point is that it doesnt have any sickening or artificial aftertaste like so many japanese beers do. Was kind of okay with dinner.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
