The first addition Brew Wërks roster that was a Michael creation. It is an alle with is rich and robust, featuring accents of caramel and roast to start. The malt flavors on the finish are balanced with an abundance of earthy hop notes. Many people have said it is the best beer in Bend. Its dangerously drinkable!

Poured from 22oz bomber into a pint glass.
Appearance: rich amber hue with no haze and a light effervescence. Head poured several thick fingers of frothy ivory foam. Retention is good and a nice chunky lace is left on the glass -- good stuff!
Smell: sweet and caramelly with bright, lemony hops. Not bad for a red ale.
Taste: slightly sweet with a tartness which I thought at first was a lemony hop character but might also be a fermentation by-product. There's a little bit of caramel and a little bit of flan character, but for the most part it doesn't come together for me. The sweetness and tartness are both a little much for the style.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a pretty good carbonation and creaminess. Not too bad.
Overall: this beer just doesn't appeal strongly to me. The piquancy is off-base for the style, and the sweetness just doesn't quite work for me.
