A robust porter with natural pecan flavour for pure deliciousness. This brew has a jet black body with hints of chocolate, coffee and pecan.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Best before November 29/25. My fourth beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and third for 2025. With Gracie the cat...

A-Jet black with a light brown moka head that is pillowy and thick
S-Aroma is wonderful, nutty and sweet with an element of butter that is deliciously decedent
M-Watery mouthfeel with very low carbonation and a less than par body for what I was expecting
T-Lacklustre upfront with a coffee bitterness that lingers and is uninspiring compared to the aroma notes
O-Would have loved more body on this oneā¦

quite disappointment with this one. Upon opening you get a faint smell of pecan but upon sipping turns more into a dark coffee gone cold. Aftertaste wasn't much better either. If you were looking for a pecan pie look somewhere else.

Very dark colour, pleasant chocolate on the nose, hint of bitterness in the finish.
Does everything well except lacking a little in the flavour department, which ultimately is the most important element. Very sweet with coffee, chocolate milk and some nuttiness, but not picking up much pecan or pie. It's okay.

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. A one finger fine brown head on a reddish black. Good head retention and lacing.
Coffee and roasted malt smells.
Lots of cocoa up front. Mild vanilla finish.
Medium body and carbonation.
Eminently quaffable!

Look: Dark brown. Pours with a 1 1/2 finger tawny beige head (on a soft pour) which disapates leaving trace lacing at 5 minutes.
Smell: Nutty (more hazelnut than pecan), chocolate milk and caramel.
Taste: Rich chocolate milk and cocoa. Very sweet and decadent. Slight pecan pie sweet carmelized sugar notes (no hint of the pecans though)
Feel: Low carbonation, pretty flat on a medium body. Stimulates the front and middle of tongue.
A very nice dessert porter. Super sweet with a touch of bitterness on the back end to round things off. If you're looking for the pecan pie taste, you might be disappointed. If this was called Chocolate Milk Porter or Ovaltine Porter it would be more apt. A good value for the price clocking in at $3 at the LCBO. It earns a B+

Opaque black color. Slightly creamy brown 1 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with average legs and swirl reaction. Flavors of dark grains, walnuts, coffee, chocolate, toffee, light berries, and herbal hops. Slick full body with light carbonation. Medium strength finish, roasted and a bit leafy, deeply nutty indeed. Not much of a fruity profile, super faint. I couldn't identify the true pecan pie sensation, coupled with a more pronounced butterscotch feel would feel more authentic to the name I guess. Decent freshness for a porter, and not as flat as usual, well constructed. Overall good quality craft.

I bought it as a novelty, but was presently surprised. I like stouts and porters, this has a good hit of chocolate and pecan, not quite a pecan pie, but reminiscent. Excellent head, I was doing a careful pour and got three fingers in a glass, almost too much, and it lasted well. Taste is good, with pecan and chocolate, but leaves a lingering sweetness that detracts. Good for an occasional beer, but not an every day drink.

473ml can served cold into a pint glass. An LCBO purchase for about $3.25 CDN.
Appearance - an aggressive pour yielded a dark brown coloured brew, with a massive three finger tan head. Modest retention and plenty of sticky lacing.
Smell - lots of chocolate, pecans, caramel blended together. Possibly brown sugar too. Very sweet.
Taste - some coffee and nuts but very little of a pie crust flavor. Chocolate too and it's of the dark variety but not as intense as the nose. Somewhat Watery to be honest.
Mouthfeel - fizzy, medium body, but lacking the slickness of most good porters.
Overall - a decent porter with some flavors and smells trending towards a pecan pie porter, however not intense enough to live up to its namesake.

Pours a deep dark black with about a thumb's worth of root beer head. Retention is pretty good.
Smell is sweet malts, treacle, and a touch of nut.
Taste is sweet, a dessert beer for sure. Roasts, treacle and again a touch of nut.
Feel is thin with medium carbonation. Not a lot else going on.
This is definitely an interesting beer. Not nearly as well done as Clown Shoes version.
