one of the best session belgians i have had in some time, and one of the better non sour trve beers i can recall of late as well. its super pale in color, looks almost watered down, with a solid white head and good clarity, but nothing remarkable about it, other than just how light it is in fact. smells great, a mild but spicy belgian strain that has been fermented cool enough to not run away from the subtle everything in this beer. the grain is pale and clean, maybe some pils malt in it, but nothing much to speak of in that regard. there are some hops here though, and with the yeast, i get red apple, pear, white pepper, and lemongrass. all very mild and soft though. what impresses me most in here though is the mouthfeel. its so much bigger than it seems like it should be. lots of character to it, fluffy and not the least bit watery despite the appearance. i love that. its also really well carbonated, almost filling for a session when its all packed in. definitely something a little different here, dont be turned off by its lightness, its pretty rugged beer still. these guys have a knack for that. i hope this one sticks around a little while, there really isnt anything else like it in the market.
