a cool collaboration with our mutual friend, which to me pairs trve, one of the best in colorado, with our mutual friend, one of the most over talked about and under delivering breweries in town, but i guess things have gotten better over there lately. they each fermented a batch of this, number one from our mutual friend, number two from trve. i did not have the other one, but the trve version is excellent, clearish golden and light looking from the bottle, very fizzy and pushing up a tall airy white head at first, but then dying back to almost flat looking except for a few rising up bubbles. the nose has some lemony tang to it, not quite as mature as a lot of their mixed fermentation beers, a touch grainy and cheesy on the brett side, but the bacterial bit is clean. i get green apple and white wine nuances here in the flavor, a flash of crackery pils malt, elderflower herbaceousness, and light oak. its good, but its simple too, not sure what the collaborative element is here, but the beer is tasty, not overly complex at all, and probably a little young still, i should pick up a bottle to cellar awhile, im sure the complexity will ramp up while the weird yeastiness will settle out. great carbonation, some minerals to it in feel and flavor, and a fine dryness. overall this is solid, i need to try the our mutual friend version next to it...
