a brut style ipa with huell melon and saaz hops, really well made beer, i have been super into the recent round of hoppy beers from trve, they really do everything well. this one is a little clear than i have gotten used to from them, with very much a noble hop profile, grassy and even spicy, bitter but mild, tea-like and fresh, nice ripeness and summery vibe from the huell melon, and a note of lime from the saaz, there in both aroma and flavor. im not sure what the deal is with this style, if they all are meant to be fermented down to zero, but this has to be pretty close, its crisp, almost lagered it seems, and nicely carbonated too. sometimes in the style i feel like it ends so abruptly that the hops cant be all the way appreciated, especially the elements of them that come on late, but not here, these varietals are tasted and felt a little earlier, so the fast finish isnt an impediment to flavor. easy drinking stuff, great mix of hop varietals in this, makes it really unique, i could easily make an afternoon of this one. awesome beer, trve is on the top of the heap right now in my opinion!
