a really cool beer here, a wet hopped spontaneous ale, still kind of tastes like a lot of the trve beers from a yeast standpoint, tart but clean, funky but fast finishing, i didnt find this to be much more bizarre or nuanced on the fermentation side than any of their regular sour ones really, not sure if they did something different here to make it spontaneous, but its familiar either way. that said, their normal profile is amazing, and thats not a criticism. the wet hops are beautiful in here, not overdone at all, obviously fresh, oily and fruity without being bitter, i get notes of meyer lemon, passion fruit, and cantaloupe from them, a little caustic pine thing too later on, i wonder which varietals they employed here. its a nice balance with the moderate sourness of this, wet and oily though too, and then the drying funk comes in, like we get both the hops and the yeast twice in here, its great! good carbonation, awesome complexity, also oddly drinkable and even refreshing for what it is, there is a juicy wetness i just love about it. maybe not as mature on the wild side as i hoped it would be, or as interesting really, but hard to complain about beer this good. another killer offering from these guys, who are easily one of the best breweries in colorado at this point, despite the relative lack of hype...
