First and foremost, what a cool name, avid skiers rejoice! Next, thanks to leftpaw for bringing this gem out in October 2018, totally played a role in us crushing beers at Trve when we were in Denver a few times the next summer.

Pours a cold medicine dark red that is pretty. Pours in a manner that appears to be lower than average carbonation, thin gaped out bubbles with space between some of them. Aroma delivers dry cherry skin sour vibes.

Taste is nice, albeit a mouth feel approaching the 'flat' designation. This is one of those "pounds of fruit per gallon" kind of big time fruited beers. I don't know the ratio, but tastewise, it smacks of more pounds than gallons. Despite the 'sweet' cherry designation, this was more up my alley, more of a dry cherry pit, brett and skin feel to it. Its a beer that does a lot of things very well, but low carbonation is for cherry stouts maybe, but not really this style of beer. Still really good, only one thing prevents it from being described as 'great'.

really special stuff here, the first beer i have seen in the little genie bottles like this from trve, a spontaneous brew with colorado cherries, the label says its young, but it tastes pretty mature to me, and there is a ton of fruit on it, this takes on the character of a high end and very unique kriek to me. red and thick like cough syrup in the glass, no head at all, not sure if it is intentionally still or not, but there is no carbonation here at all, maybe the slightest bit from some time in the bottle, but its almost entirely flat, rather traditional i know, but i always like wild beer and lambic types to have some life. the aroma here is awesome, tons of fruit on it, fresh tart cherries concentrated like pie filling, fresh though, natural as can be, and about as much of them as can fit in here. i dont get much wood here, this might be all in stainless, i dont know, but it has definite red wine characteristics, deep plum and even raspberry notes in with the cherry. slick but thicker feeling, lots of body, and without any carbonation moving it forward it drinks slow, is palate coating, and lingers forever. there is light tartness and high funk here, especially for a younger beer, very well developed yeast complexion, different than their familiar house mixed culture profile, more fully wild, and i dig that. overall i thought this was amazing, a ton of cherries and a really cool funkiness about it, texturally interesting too. worth the high price tag, and a fun one to share getting reacquainted with an old friend for the holidays! trve can do it all!
