canned 10.30.20 in support of the ACLU
L - Golden amber yellow; darker than one might expect, but see through (as one might from this brewery)
S - pine, fruits of the tropics, pith, grapefruit, and good sweet malt on the nose
T - Yep, as expected given the hop bill (Grungeist, Mandarina Bav), this is a larger version of Tunnel of Trees. Great taste, rounded, bitterness is present but not domineering. You'd almost never guess this is 9% - until you're hammered.
F - Good, carb is nice, head was OK, little lacing that I could tell.
O - a damn good big DIPA from TRVE, a surprise to find in my local shop. One of the few big WCIPAs I've been able to find this year of 2020

i think this is the first i have seen of a hop called grungeist, which obviously sounds german, no clue where it came from or what it is, but this is a uniquely interesting ipa, a strong one from trve, not a hazy which shocked me, and something done for a good cause. low alpha, super herbal and weird in a good way, green banana, coconut flesh, watermelon rind, brings a lot to this lightly copper toned brew, heady and bubbly and not as cloudy as expected, strange looking, but stupidly easy drinking for its strength, no trace of that here at all. malt weight in terms of feel, but not in terms of flavor, which is awesome, this stays juicy and sort of tropical, kiwi and lime zest, but like some toffee in the grain too, not rich to drink though, its back and forth, fresh as can be, honey, hops, flowers, elemental in that way, good carbonation, some finishing bitterness, a very good and relatively unique beer, trve continues to surprise, doing cool stuff well beyond the mixed culture type. dangerously easy drinking at this strength too, this put me under!
