gorgeous and immaculately refined belgian single here, frothy and interesting, done with orange peel and grains of paradise, very summery, herbal, distinctive, and the extra ingredients in this go extremely well with the yeast esters, which dont dominate but stand out, impressive overall quality, as pretty much always from trve, i loved this one and am now super keen to try the tripel from the same series. super heady label art too. the pour is awesome, rich brassy to golden with just a little frost to it and a high white belgian peaky head that looks authentic as can be, lots of bubbles. aroma is white pepper and clove from the yeast, coriander and dandelion notes from the grains of paradise, and plenty of citrus, white wine, and apple fruitiness, really compelling and pretty complex, refined but also rustic in the flattering old world belgian kind of way. the flavor is just like the nose, robust for a beer so light, and the airy texture even exacerbates that. pink peppercorn, zesty orange, a little bubblegum kind of ester, pear, dust. airy but also creamy feeling, like light but also fatty, and i love it. the texture and the ferment make or break a belgian beer, and they make this one for sure. elite as the trve clean stuff goes, stoked for the other one, wish i had a bottle!
