Served On-Tap
A — Pours a clear and pale yellow hue into the glass, thin bright white head fades but leaves some nice lacing behind.
S — Aroma is fairly mild with just light peppery and yeasty notes, little bit of a bubble gum phenolic overtone, but fairly mild all things considered.
T — Taste is good, much like the nose it is fairly light, though there is a bit more substance and chew here this time. With notes of pepper, banana and clove.
M — Medium bodied, fairly light overall though, not overly lingering.
O — Good overall, a good intro and exploration of a BPA.

really my least favorite beer at trve last night. it seemed the least well thought out. its way overly malty for a belgian pale, almost like an english pale on the grain build, with more of that crystal malty thing going on, just fermented with a belgian yeast that doesnt totally seem to fit. its sweet up front and winey and fruity on the back end from a rather bold strain of yeast likely fermented a bit warm. for me, those two elements rarely work well together, and they really dont here in my opinion. it also seems under hopped for what i like to see in the style, but i realize these are personal criticisms and others may like this one quite a bit because it is very unlike others in the market. more hops and a little less body and lingering sweetness would be useful edits i think though, and as good as the carbonation is, it still feels a bit heavy. i think this one is a little bit outside of what they usually do well. nice to see them pushing in a different direction, but this was a one and done brew for me.
